Internal Medicine

There are many medical subspecialties that are part of the Medicine Program of Atlantic Health Sciences Corporation.  Patients may be seen in an outpatient service such as the Diabetic Teaching Unit, the TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition Program), or one of many Ambulatory Clinics.  Patients may also be part of the specialized care provided on the general Internal Medicine Unit, the Rehabilitation/Rheumatology Unit, or the concentrated care provided as part of the Integrated Intensive Care Unit.

The following Departments and Inpatient Nursing Units are part of Internal Medicine:

 Often, Internal Medicine patients present multi-system disorders and may require services from different Program components.  An example might be a diabetic patient with heart problems who also has rheumatoid arthritis.  This patient could require many elements of medical care both as an inpatient and an outpatient.
