Manager: Julie Vicente Electrodiagnostic Services of the Atlantic Health Sciences Corporation performs a variety of cardiac, neurological and neuromuscular procedures. The procedures, assessments and follow-ups are provided to inpatients and outpatients throughout Region 2. Cardiac referrals are accepted from other facilities throughout the province in conjunction with the New Brunswick Heart Centre. Electrodiagnostic Services incorporates the disciplines of Electrocardiology, Echocardiography, Electroencephalography and Electromyography Technologies. The service is divided into two distinct units: Cardiology and Neurology. The Cardiology unit performs invasive and non-invasive cardiology procedures: Cardiac ultrasound, transesophageal ultrasound, electrocardiograms, stress tests, stress-echo tests, nuclear stress tests, ambulatory monitoring, pacemaker, implanted cardiac defibrillator and loop recorder analyzing, programming interrogations and follow-ups. Electrocardiograms and Holter monitors are performed by the Electrodiagnostic Departments in Sussex Health Centre, St. Joseph’s Hospital, KV Health Services and Charlotte County Hospital. The Saint John Regional provides Holter monitor scanning and editing of electrocardiogram reports for all facilities throughout Region 2 including Fundy Health Centre, Grand Manan, Deer Island Health Centre and Campobello Health Centre. The Neurology unit performs invasive and non-invasive neurological procedures such as electroencephalograms, central nerve studies and electromylograms and intra-operative monitoring for all facilities in Region 2.
