The AHSC Department of Anesthesiology provides anesthesia for surgical procedures at four facilities in Region 2: the Saint John Regional Hospital, St Joseph’s Hospital, Charlotte County Hospital, and Sussex Health Centre.  At the Regional Hospital anesthesia coverage is also provided for Labour and Delivery, as well as a consultation service, a pre-operative assessment clinic, and an acute pain service.  A chronic pain clinic is staffed in conjunction with nurses, psychologists, and other professionals.  Emergency anesthesia services are provided around the clock seven days per week at the Regional Hospital.
