Patient Room

We have eight private, ten semi-private and two wards on our unit. If you specifically want a semi-private or a private room, make sure you put a request into admitting before your surgery.

Most of our rooms have electric beds which allow you to lift your head up with the push of a button on the siderail. Orthopaedic patients may have “Monkey Bars” which you can use to lift yourself and change position in bed.

Each room has a locker, chair with arms,overbed table and bedside table. You are able to hook up a telephone or television in your room for a daily charge.

Quiet Room

The quiet room is for your family to sit while they wait to visit you, if you are getting washed, down in xray, or having a physio session.

There are chairs, couches to sit on, a table and 2 chairs and magazines to read.

If you have a lot of company you may use this room to visit with them.

Therapy Room

This is where a lot of teaching is done. You will learn to climb the stairs here.

There are posters and video tapes that you can use for your own learning needs.
