Walking exercise is the best form of therapy after your back surgery

This is a suggested walking exercise program to be used after back surgery.

  • Walk 5 minutes 3 times/day until you are comfortable doing this
  • Add on a minute each day until you are walking 10 minutes 3 times/day
  • Then start walking 15 minutes 2 times/day
  • Add on a minute each day until you are walking 25 minutes 2 times/day
  • Then walk 50-60 minutes once/day
