On April 21, 2006 was the official opening of the NBHC third cardiac catheterization laboratory. On site for the event were Dr. Vernon Paddock, NBHC Medical Director, the Honorable Health Minister Brad Green, and William Teed from AHSC Board of Directors. This event resulted from a recommendation that came out of the External Review of NB Cardiac Services that was carried out in 2004. The new addition will ensure that New Brunswickers in need of tertiary cardiac services will have access to this service within the Recommended Wait Time.
