NB Heart Centre - WelcomeWelcome to the website of the New Brunswick Heart Centre (NBHC). In operation since April 1991, the NBHC is the provincial referral centre for tertiary cardiac care in New Brunswick and surrounding areas. Services provided at the NBHC are associated cardiology, interventional cardiology, and cardiac surgery. Following the External Review of New Brunswick Cardiac Services carried out in 2004 (follow the link to view document), we have been in the process of implementing a series of nine recommendations, one of which is the construction of a third cardiac catheterization suite (completed April 2006) allowing the addition of an electrophysiology service to the NBHC program. Upon successful recruitment of an electrophysiologist, it will be possible to carry out Electrophysiology studies (EPS), Ablations, and insertion of Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (AICD) and patients will no longer be required to travel out of province for these services. The NBHC provides tertiary cardiac care services in partnership with the Regional Health Authorities (RHA) of New Brunswick. Provided is a map of all of New Brunswick’s RHA's with a link to each.
