Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services

All services related to children and adolescents are under the Women's and Children's Health Program. This allows for a holistic approach to children’s health care. For mental health services, the Program is linked to Acute Mental Health Services. Inpatient care, if necessary, is primarily provided by the Child and Adolescent Psycho social Program with the exception of some older adolescents with mental illness who may be treated as an inpatients on either of the Acute Inpatient or Short Stay Units. The Mental Health Program also links closely with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services at the Community Mental Health Centres where services can be accessed as well.
