The focus of our work is to enhance our client’s ability to function within their diagnosis and illness. We really strive to support their dignity and independence. This feels great and is always challenging creatively and professionally. Do you think you make a difference as a RT in the health of your patients?I do believe I make a difference as a Respiratory Therapist in the health of my clients. I teach them about their illness and how to manage it. I see that our clients long to have some normality in their lives and I encourage people to be active in the ways they can. Which part of your education and training is emphasized in your work with EMP?The part of my education and training that is emphasized in my work with EMP is assessment. This is ongoing and a vital piece of training. Good assessment ensures good quality care. Because we work independently, we need to have confidence in our assessment skills and intuition. |
