Common Roles and Responsibilities to EMP Team MembersEach discipline delivers service to the patient and family according to the plan of care. Patients are seen as quickly as possible. When a wait list exists the professional responds according to priority. EMP staff must be able to work within a team context while at the same time being self-directed and autonomous, functioning as sole charge, with no discipline-specific clinical supervisor. Communication both formal and informal is vital to the functioning of the team and to ensuring quality patient focused care. The Extra-Mural Program promotes staff development in many ways, one of these being the process of performance reviews. There are three components to PR which include: self appraisal, peer appraisal, and management appraisal. The target population for all EMP disciplines includes people of ALL ages.
