What is the most challenging aspect of your work with Extra Mural?
The most challenging aspect of my work with EMP is the diversity of our caseload. Our work covers every scope of practice. Another challenge is working with many professionals from different organizations. We need to work as a team, staying open to input from all team members.
What is most rewarding about working for EMP?
I would say the most rewarding aspect of working for EMP is the relationships that develop among the team and the nature of our contact with clients – very rewarding and real.
What strengths do you need to work as an SLP in EMP?
Due to large caseloads, and waiting lists – as a Speech-Language Pathologist I need to be organized, self directed and have realistic expectations of others and myself. I also have to promote our profession and our scope of practice…this is necessary for all professionals working on an interdisciplinary team.
