Job Satisfaction Testimonial
What is unique about the role of an EMP dietitian?

There are many things that are unique about the role of an EMP dietitian. We are part of an interdisciplinary team. We treat our client’s holistically. Dietitians are always respectful of the reality of their client’s lives. For example we are in their homes and we are sensitive to their financial status, what foods they can afford, what foods are available to them and what agencies might support their needs.

What is most rewarding about being a dietitian with EMP?

When we see a young child beginning to thrive…they smile, have more energy, and strength and they gain weight…the parents are so thankful…we know we’ve made a difference. That’s the reward!

What are the challenges of working as a dietitian with EMP?

Often the challenges are also the rewards. For example, we work independently which means we need to have confidence in our knowledge base and decision-making ability in unpredictable situations and with a diverse caseload.
