Protect yourself against Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR)

A second MMR immunization is being offered by Public Health in response to a recent outbreak of mumps in this area, other parts of Canada and the United States, and following reported measles cases in Quebec.

Why is it important to get vaccinated again?
Sometimes, immunizations that you were given as a baby need to be boosted to keep you protected. The mumps outbreak shows that a second MMR immunization is needed to “boost” your immunity to continue your protection against mumps disease as well as measles and rubella.

Who is eligible for this free second MMR?

  • Grade 12 students
  • Young adults 18-24 years; and
  • Individuals at post secondary institutions born in or after 1970.
