Lahey Hitchcock Clinic: a learning partnership

Atlantic Health Sciences Corporation has a learning partnership with the Lahey Hitchcock Clinic in Boston.

The James A. MacMurray Fellowship, was made possible by a donation from Saint John businessman James A. MacMurray, and led to enhancements in patient care, education and research through the exchange of expertise.  The MacMurray Visiting Lectureship, one component of this two-component partnership, enabled experts within the Lahey Group to visit New Brunswick to present health care information on specific topics. The MacMurray Traineeship Program, the second component, allowed physicians from AHSC to complete a clinical rotation in Boston. Participants rotated through a variety of areas from primary care to clinical sub-specialties, as well as health care management.

The Lahey Hitchcock Clinic is North America’s second largest group medical practice, with more than 1,000 doctors located in 70 sites across three states. The clinic’s main facility near Boston attracts patients from all over the world for diagnosis and treatment in nearly every medical specialty.
