Minimally Invasive General Surgeon

Regional Health Authority B – Saint John Zone invites applications for a general surgeon. Interest in colorectal, minimally invasive surgery or critical care is an asset.

The department consists of seven general surgeons who participate in a collegial call group. Subspecialty interests include thoracic, vascular and hepatobiliary surgery as well as critical care and breast health.

The Saint John Regional Hospital has a new minimally invasive surgical suite with state-of-the-art equipment. There is opportunity for endoscopy.

There is an increasing opportunity for involvement in postgraduate and undergraduate medical education with development of a New Brunswick based medical school.

Applicants must be eligible for licensure in New Brunswick and hold certification in General Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or American Board certification. Recognized formal training in minimally invasive surgery or colorectal surgery is an asset. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the teaching program, the General Surgery call schedule and be eligible for an academic appointment.
