Lung Education

Description: The Lung Education program is a teaching program for patients with Chronic Asthma, Bronchitis and Emphysema. The program consists of 5 sessions to teach you how to better manage your breathing problem. A nurse, pharmacist, therapist, physiotherapist, and dietician each teach one session. You will learn:

  • How the lungs work
  • What makes breathing worse
  • What can you do to better manage your breathlessness
  • How to use your puffer and peak flow meter
  • How your medications work and what side effects they have
  • The importance of proper nutrition
  • Breathing exercises you can use to help you cope with shortness of breath
