Food Purchasing Club

What is the Saint John Food Purchasing Club?

The Saint John Food Purchasing Club is a nonprofit organization that has been in operation since May 1997 to assist individuals and families obtain nutritious food at reasonable prices.

Each member pays $20.00 per month for each food order. The money is pooled together, groceries are purchased for the best prices, then divided evenly among participants. By combining our money we are able to buy in bulk and take advantage of the lowest prices!

Members volunteer their time and energy, sharing in the work that is necessary to purchase and sort the food orders. Working together helps reduce cost, such as going from store to store for sales. With less overhead, more money is spent on food. The Food Purchasing Club focuses on quality products with high nutritional value.

How do I join?

New members are always welcome! Membership costs $5.00 and 5 hours of volunteer time each year. To join, simply come into the Community Health Centre or give us a call!

The $20 grocery order fee is due by the middle of the month. Food pick up day is usually the third Friday of each month between 12:00pm - 4:00pm at the Community Health Centre.
